Day 137, September 1: Mile 2365 to 2389

  • Start: Mile 2364.5

  • End: Mile 2388.7

  • Miles: 24.2

  • Ascent: 5144 | Descent: 5056

Today was a better day than yesterday, which seems a little strange in retrospect as there was more climbing and the terrain felt overall tougher. But I was in a better mental state, and ready to take on the day.

I managed to hike 12.5 miles before my friends caught up to me. They normally catch me earlier in the morning but they had apparently taken a long break at the morning water source. They caught up to me at the midday water source, where we had lunch.

The rest of the day was fairly uneventful. I got enough cell service to call my mom for a while, and I was able to sort out some life stuff. A productive day indeed.

The four of us had fun at camp, laughing and poking fun as we ate dinner. Tomorrow we will go into Snoqualmie Pass!
