Days 142-143, September 6-7: Zeros in Leavenworth

Since Gus had gotten sick with norovirus, he and Frankie were behind on the trail and arrived on the morning of Kevin’s and my second day there. We all agreed more rest would be good, so we decided to stay for an extra day in town. Mim and Squirrel Daddy also joined us in our Airbnb.
The days in town were full of the normal chores and activities- resupplying, laundry and shower (for Frankie and Gus), reorganizing packs and relaxing. One especially fun thing was that my cousin Jen, who lives in Seattle, had already been planning to come to the mountains on the 6th (her birthday!), and decided to come to Leavenworth to hang out! We got a delicious meal and played pool afterwards, and it was so lovely to catch up and spend her birthday with her.
After two solid days of relaxing in our Airbnb, it was time to head back to trail.
